#2 - HOW TO PRINT YOUR WEB ADDRESS FOR ADS, FLYERS, Etc. - by Chas. Campbell
Important web marketing concept: Increase your web site "visitors" by heavily promoting the address in the "Real World!" Not only will you "recruit" viewers, but they will be the most targeted prospects for your market area(s).
This seems so obvious, but just leaf thru any homes magazine and see how few list a web address; look in the newspaper classifieds for e-mail or web..... so very very few! This is a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to PUSH your web address!
Here's some ideas for effective printing and placing of e-mail and web addresses:
1) When using color: Make the web address stand out on the page, it doesn't have to be large if it's a contrasting color. And use color to emphasise certain aspects of the address to make it more memorable. here's an example - www.jimhermes.com - It's Jim's name, which is good "name recognition," but it's all run together for the "computerese." But! Picture the above with the "jim" part in Red, and the "hermes" part in blue... get the point? www.jimhermes.com
The same holds true when you do not have your own Domain name. Example - www.mnrealty.com/tucker - Make the "tucker" part a brighter and bolder color....www.mnrealty.com/tucker
2) Typography: Even without color, apply the same concept above to making changes in the type. Example: "tucker" in boldface or *slightly* larger size type. (Do not use a widely differnt type face or size difference) You can also use "families" of type faces to get dramatic results! Mix this with color for a knockout effect! www.mnrealty.com/tucker
3) Computers don't care about capital letters: Lastly, when typing in a web address, your computer doesn't care if it's capitals or smalls. That means YOU can use them to make more differentiation in the Web address without it effecting you. Examples: www.JimHermes.com, www.mnrealty.com/TUCKER, www.MNRealty.com, www.RealtorMathis.com, whatever.
** Note that I don't use the "http://" part of the web address that I do use in e-mailings. Most newer web browsers don't require it any more and I wouldn't list it anyway since it's a "given" and it really messes up the graphical look of your address.... revenge of the nerds again!
Hope you start printing your web address everywhere: homes magazines, classified ads, flyers and printouts, MLS!, display and bulletin listings, etc. etc. etc!!! Remember, it's your "one-word sales pitch."
Have a good week, after I return from vacation, MN-Realty will be rolling out an entire modular expansion system to add to your web sites. We will also be bringing my new "LinkBase" on-line, that will alow you to have your own "LinkBase" on your own web page(s). Other exciting new features include Peggy's new "GuestBook," and a Password-access area of your own for past clients, buyers, family, or your own secret society..... :)
More to follow later in June......
