My First Theme for '99 - "E-Mail is where the Rubber meets the Road...."

Web pages are nice, the same way good personal promo material is nice, but it's the actual "push" that goes on with e-mail that makes the sales and marketing magic happen.

My first tip is to add an e-mail collumn to your open house register. Start looking for e-mail addresses from all your diverse forms of prospecting - from sign calls ("...would you prefer to leave an e-mail address for a return contact?" or "would receiving my e-mail update from time to time be something that would be helpful to you?") to postage reply cards (put the e-mail slot there too!)

So you get some e-mail addresses in your open house register... then what? How about e-mailing them an "e-thank-you" as soon as you get home? (or right away if you have your laptop!)

It is easy to create folders or mailboxes in your e-mail program - make one for "form letters." Then, write your typical e-responses to often-used prospecting situations - mail it to yourself. Then, when you receive your mail, file it in your "form letter" mailbox. Now you have a copy of all your responses when you need them! just open the old message, do a "send again," and fill-in the new prospects' e-mail address. Do it in seconds!

As part of tip #1, here is a sample "e-thank-you" for a typical open house prospect. Feel free as members of MNRealty to copy, adapt, and use it if you see fit.
